^
Ecology part of the exam is approximately 25%…certainly not to be ignored.

My AP bio teacher is garbage. I figured that if I want to get a 4 or 5 I need to start self studying. How should I go about doing this?

^ Read Cliff’s and do the labs on Lab Bench.

A good set of videos for AP Bio are on Virtual Cell(look up on YouTube)
It has something to do with North Dakota State Univ but the graphics are great

Hello.
To be honest, I did not sutyd for the exam that much. I am starting my real study with Cliff Notes and REA Crash Course. Is it enough to study for two months with these books, along with solving various sample questions and practice tests, will get me to 5??
Is it already late to start studying now?

@mansu007 only you can answer that question. In my case, I’m not even taking AP classes because i’m studying the Pakistani curriculum in Pakistan but still when I started self-studying a few days ago, I found that if you roughly know some of the concepts from school, you’ll do fine. i’m studying at the rate of about 2-3 chapters a day…which, I think is good…I think you’ll find it quite easy after starting to study.

Hello!

I am wondering where are you right now in the course of AP Biology. My class is in middle of Plant Kingdom section, and did most of the official labs? How about you?

Are you reviewing for the official exam now? Honestly, I did not even touch the prep book that I have because not of procrastination but of Science Olympiad thing in this month… How fast can you read textbook or prep book??

That’s where we are! Smack in the middle of plants! (quite boring…)

I think we have about 2 or 3 labs left to do too

I’ve been only looking at my prep books for unit tests. (That method works pretty well- I’ve been getting all 5’s and one 4! But I haven’t really looked over stuff from the begining of the year, which we better start doing now, since I only remember the basics

Hopefully spring break will allow time for all that XD

If i haven’t read anything from campbell…can i just read cliff’s and get a 5/

Hello.
I recently bought Cliff Notes AP Biology for studying, but it seemed to me that I need another prep book (to cover information not on Cliffs and also further practice questions). So I drew up some candidates:

Princeton Review
AP Biology Cram Kit
REA AP Biology Crash Course
5 Steps to a 5 AP Biology

Which one do you recommend to use along with Cliff Notes?

I memorize trivia and facts through botting, but that’s only because I have a botting program on my computer through a chat program. But I’d highly recommend reading through a quick small section whenever you have free time, and then reading it over again at another time to truly absorb the information. Also, I’m trying to do as many practice tests as possible.

I was not sure if I’d be taking the AP Bio test until about a week ago. I’m in an honors bio class, and so far it seems like I only need to add a bit more depth to what I already know for most of the sections. Yeah, there are some things I’ve got to teach myself (like some of the organ systems) but, overall I’m hoping my studying will end well.

Of course CCers would bot…

Did anyone else say they did that? I’m curious. I got into botting based off of Harry Potter trivia, so it’s just replacing the trivia with useful knowledge. The problem is that I had to make my own qset for bio.

I’m finally going to be getting a textbook for clarification purposes tomorrow, which is lovely, except that I think the only books left are the ones with water damage and tears on the pages. :/

We are still on evolution… and the BEGINNING of evolution.
All we’ve done so far is
-ecology
-cells
-chemistry of life
-genetics.

OH GOD. I’m so scared for the AP Test, everyone in my class believes that they will fail.
and last year, no one in the whole school made a five.

But the 5 steps to a 5 book has been helping me alot though (:

Our class just finished Plants & Structures and Lab-9. Start tomorrow, we are going to Anatomy & Physiology, with 1 Lab left to do.

I wish good luck of 5 to everybody on here!!

Only about 5 chapters leftt
Im on spring break till april 11.and we shouldbedone with the course by the end of that week. Only lab 12 left.
Sent from my T-Mobile G1 usidng CC App

I’m a little worried, but not really…more than half the students at my school last year got a 5.

What are the free response questions like?

@Mansu007: I would really recommend using 5 Steps to a 5. Even though the author BS-es a lot, he did cover the basic info and the big picture. Plus, there are lots of pics and diagrams inside, which makes it even more captivating.

Does anyone know if animal physiology would be a huge part of the exam? I’m having trouble memorizing the hormones of the reproductive system.
