Does anyone have any frq predictions?

on every practice MC exam, i’ve been scoring 80-90%, so i’m only truly worried about the free response because we’ve done NO practice writing in my class save for a few essays in september.

Do we have to memorize EVERY SINGLE DETAIL from Cliffs to get a 5? Or is understanding everything and knowing the big pictures of everything good enough?

im curious as to the accuracy of cliffs as well. anybody know how accurate their mcq’s are?

@thes1tuation check out [Khan Academy](http://www.khanacademy.org) and go on sciences, then bio, then click away.

@special No, of course not, but it’s not really easy to understand the overlying theme in bio, so at this point, just target the bold faced words and learn em. Knowing the details will help you at this point, but if I were you, I’d just relax. Last minute studying is bad, but review never hurts. Just make sure you know what you already knew, and don’t bother learning new stuff now.

Good luck to everybody tomorrow, It’l be fine. :)

KHAN ACADEMY saved my academic career… literally. Best teacher I’ve ever had, hands down.

How important is the digestive system?

pencilcase: not particularly, except for maybe the duodenum of the small intestine

Well, looks like I’m pulling an all-nighter… What areas of Biology should I focus more upon in the last 12+ hours? This is assuming that I’m equally prepared on each of the units…

Boezman + Cliffs FTW!

Can someone explain this question please? It’s probably really easy but the answer I think is right isn’t…

1) A biologist isolates numerous tiny, green-pigmented cells from a sample of lake water. The cells are covered with a mucilaginous sheath. They contain relatively large amounts of chlorophyll a and phycobilin pigments and lack a compact, organized nucleus. Electron microscopy will reveal that these cells also contain which of the following pairs of subcellular structures?
a) Ribosomes and chloroplasts
b) Ribosomes and mitochondria
c) Golgi Bodies and a cell wall
d) Thylakoids and a cell wall
e) Chloroplasts and mitochondria

I’m guessing there won’t be a hefty essay on genetics because of the one last year. What do you guys think?

@chess94 I ran into this problem too! I have no idea…I think its an obscure protist…

sounds like a cyanobacteria chess94

I know people have been asking this, but I’ll give it another try… XD

FRQ predictions? (especially lab???)

chess: the answer is d because chllorophyl= thylakoids, and mucilaginous sheath= cell wall.
frq lab prediction: everything is open except for the one last year, which was drosophilia

so you would consider it safe to not study that one?

thank you! :)

it said “My moms friend works for college board and she said one of the frq is about photsynthesis.” so i guess there’s one on photosynthesis?

collegebound, thank that’s what I actually put as my answer, but when I looked at the answer key I thought it said the answer was b for some reason…so I just checked and saw that I just misread it lol. Ok, that clears that up…

Is the 1994 exam easy? I just took the first 80 questions… got 62/80.

Thanks.
