^yeah, that’s why I think the score for a 5 might be around 106.5

106.5 seems pretty reasonable given the test, maybe just a little too high.

Actually 106.5 sounds pretty reasonable, it isn’t terribly hard to get, but considering the multiple choice test and how seemingly easy it was, I’m guessing that’s an accurate cutoff.

this is depressing

^what do you mean

Wait hpycsm, werent you the same person who said the USABO (national Biology exam) was easy and that it’s all common knowledge? Seems kind of weird that you would be afraid of the AP bio exam…

I’ll trade with you…?

wait isn’t selling open exams and stuff illegal? it seems suspicious, anyway.

I’m taking ap bio this coming year. Any tips or ways to study? Like what book should I buy (pr, barrons, etc)

Buy Cliffs. It’s not terribly expensive and I really liked the format. Use a PR book from the library for practice tests. It was VERY similar.

I’d make tons of flash cards, but that’s because I love them. I’d go with whatever is best for you. But, reading through an AP review book can do wonders, even if you don’t take notes.

If you have a crappy teacher, you’re going to have to put in a lot more time outside of class man. Buy Cliff’s on Amazon, not in a retail setting. Retail is much more expensive. Also make sure you complete all of the tests on the cliffs book and CD by the time it’s exam day. Good luck.

I agree! But, I’d probably recommend going with PR for the practice tests because from what I remember, they were more accurate when compared to the test. I wouldn’t buy it, but check it out of the library or take a quick practice test at the book store. There were some questions in the PR book that I used that were worded almost exactly like that on the test. When I sat my test and realized the similarities I felt a lot more confident.

I don’t recommend actually buying it because I didn’t and it’s not worth paying for just the two practice tests. If your own library doesn’t have it, you may be able to ILL it.

I agree! If your teacher if extra crappy(find out), I wouldn’t even recommend taking the class because it will most likely slow you down(High correlation between crappy teachers and those who give you useless assignments). You are probably better off self studying where you have access to these great online resources like the khan academy and bozemanbiology.

Second to what aa2011 said. I believe that it’s best to get to know who your AP Bio teacher first before you even decide to take the class. If that teacher is willing to sit down and explain difficult concepts to you in person, then I would take that class. However, I must warn you that even if you do have a good AP Bio teacher, you would still have to know how to self-study. Never procrastinate, and always use the resources that your teacher has provided you.
I don’t use Khan Academy and Bozemanbiology, but I use the labs on PhSchool and the different resources that other AP Bio teachers post on their websites. With those online resources plus CliffNotes really is a perfect match, and I believe that this combo would help you get a 5 on the AP Bio Exam.
