…Whereas with Cliff’s, you can read it once, and at worst, get a 5. ;)

@whodareswins: Cliff’s is definitely more preferable.

okay lets be honest i didnt NEED to read it 3 times, but im just a perfectionist and i kept feeling like id forget something =P

but you can just read barrons once and youd be fine, I said you could get a 4, but thats only if you’re not a science person and make a really stupid mistake, because no prep book can make sure you dont make a stupid mistake…

@Blackpaint, if you could send me a couple of released exams with the keys it would really be beneficial. I will private message you my email address.

“@Blackpaint, if you could send me a couple of released exams with the keys it would really be beneficial. I will private message you my email address.” - wait who’s giving out tests?

^Nobody is “giving out” tests.

I am takin AP Biology this upcoming school year. I got the Barron’s review book. Is this one the best, or is there a better one? Also, I didn’t take chemistry before AP Biology, but I am taking H Chem along with it. Does not taking chemistry before make a big impact or little to no impact on my understanding of the course?

None, I took Chem Honors with AP Bio and still got a 5.
Believe me you dont need to stress out, simply the fact that you already bought Barrons means that you are prepared and way ahead of the game compared to others. IMO its the best book out there…but when the exam gets closer you can check out the PR book from the library if you want to be safe.

@james: Thank you for your advice! I’m not really that stressed out, just wanted to clear up a few misconceptions. Thanks again.

^ Cliff’s is the best. In my opinion as well as that of most of the people on here.

Cliff’s PWNage

Barron’s worked well enough to help me get a 5

the Barron’s review was really too general i went through it in one night before the exam, not much help. The Campbell bio books are really good, so if you’re self studying just read through it, it takes a long time though. i did AP bio last year, got a 5 and 800 on SAT II
u actually don’t need to know anything about protists. i know this from generations of test takers telling me and from experience

btw u can find released tests online

I just got a 5 this May. The most I did was kinda pay attention in class (what can I say, I’m easily distracted), do half of a past-year exam with our class, and skim through the Crash Course book in the 2 days before the exam. That’s seriously an amazing book though- everything’s in outline form, so it’s all of the information without the fluff that fills so many review books. So really, no need to freak out now. In 8 months? Maybe.

ap bio sophomore year. I hope it’s doable.
my class has a decent teacher, and I don’t remember what our book is. it has a leopard or a cheetah on the front, if that helps.

I have the cliff’s and princeton review prep books. which one is better?

Guys. Bio II AP class has been going on for a few weeks. How are you all liking your teacher/class?

It’s a joke… I play on sporcle.com all class. Plus, my teacher isn’t great, so I have no incentive to pay attention

My class is a joke also…My teacher sucks and displays favoritism.

I took the AP Bio exam last year and got a …5! I had an amazing teacher so I didn’t study much for the test. You WILL need to know the blood flow in the heart. Also, pay attention to the labs because 1 FRQ will be based on labs. Know some ecology terminology and the cycle of nitrogen in the soil. Also, make sure you know classification. Feel free to message me if you have any questions on what to study.

Thanks^ 10char
