what did u guys put as the two features on part b of the phototropism question?
what did u guys put for 1 c, d, and e?
@soccerball7979 I said that the two features are hormone diffusing downward, then cell elongation for growth towards sun.
Go to page 56 of this forum for answers to #1
@CGlynn I said that the two features are hormone diffusing downward, and stem elongation on the right side (the side away from the sun). Do you think that is okay?
Went over the FRQ’s in class since they’re released and I got mostly everything correct! My attitude has changed, maybe I did get a 5? Cannot wait for July!!!
@ChemFire085 Definitely, that’s basically what I said.
@CGlynn For the snakes question, how could you tell that there were abundant resources??
@ChemFire085 It stated it in the question, but the large growth from 97-99 supported that they were reproducing at will.
@CGlynn Could you also have said that the juvenile snakes before the group was added was not showing a steady decline in numbers? lol That’s what I said
Was I being stupid. I said that the snakes may not have been demonstrating proper behavior to attract females and inter sexual selection led to less snakes reproducing. The re-introduction of more sexually dominant males led to an increase in population. Then for the other part I said introducing more stakes would if anything lessen resources so it can be concluded there was initially a behavioral or other type of issue.
Ok, what do we think the curve is going to be like this year? Can we hope for something a little less than 78% cutoff for a 5, or is that unreasonable?
What is the projected cutoff for a 3?
@parisbarca77 I’d say around a 75-78% is pretty realistic for a 5
So due to a legitimate reason (don’t want to enumerate), I need to take the late AP Bio Exam. It is in the afternoon.
Will it be much harder? How is the curve? Will it adhere to the new format?
Also, should I take finals before the exam?
Theoretically, it should be the same difficulty but really it could be easier or harder. However, your scores are compared to others taking the makeup exam when deciding on the curve so the same level of performance should lead to the same score. I’m also taking the late Bio exam due to a conflict with AP Music Theory. I’ve taken the late AP World exam before and the essays were MUCH easier than the ones on the actual exam. The new exam will be exactly the same format and should reflect the same content.
The released free response for 2015 ap bio has a question on phylogeny and constructing the tree. I’m good at interpreting, but I have no idea of even how to start drawing the tree.
I’m taking the late exam too, and I have a question about enzymes and substrates.
So the problem has a table with time in seconds and product. After 100 seconds, the amount of product stays constant and the rate of the reaction is 0.
Question: Why is there no increase in product after 100 seconds?
The answer key says “all the enzymes are saturated and are already catalyzing reactions as fast as they can.” I had put “the substrate is all used up.”
Why am I wrong, and if the enzymes were saturated, wouldn’t the product still be increasing??
Wow, the administrators at my school screwed up so I now have to take the late late exam next Thursday because they weren’t prepared to test me.
If I didn’t answer #7 on the FRQ and missed parts of other questions on the FRQs and missed about 8-10 on the MC, what do you think my score would be?
The 2015 bio mc part was a joke. I personally studied from Kaplans, and don’t use Barrons! It’s really simple and it does not go into much detail as much as it should. If cramming, I suggest Bozeman videos. Here is a link: http://www.bozemanscience.com/ap-biology/
Crash course biology on youtube is outstanding.
