AP Biology anxiety

The AP Biology exam is only 2 days away.

I've heard that this is a really tough test.
I don't necessarily plan on passing, but I figured that I should try.

(besides, i'm only getting elective credit for this test for the college I'm going to)

What about you guys? Have you been studying hard for this test? (I haven't..)

To those of you who took it before, would you say it was really hard..?

If you took the AP course already, there shouldn’t be a worry for you.

ap bio is one of the easiest ap science tests. it should be no problem.

gyahhh. idk. all my friends who took it as juniors last year got 2s and 1s… I only know a few who got 3s. btw, I heard ap chem is A LOT easier… strange ><

^they probably had no idea what they were doing. got a 5 on ap bio freshman year no problem.

It is REALLY simple if you’ve paid the slightest bit of attention to the course throughout the year. There are three released exams here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1064825659-post42.html</a></p>

Take 'em and surprise yourself with the lack of difficulty. See how you do.

I was really worried, but I’ve taken three released exams, planning on taking a fourth tomorrow, and my worries have been eased. My raw score has been consistent with each exam.

Ilikeyou,
I thought ap bio was only open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors…

how’d you take it w/o taking college prep bio?

AP Bio is open to anybody who wants to take it. Every school has their own rules, but the CollegeBoard doesn’t.

I never took college prep bio either. In fact, I don’t even know what that is. :p

SeekingUni,
ahhh. seriously? At our school, we have college prep (regular) biology which is a required class. Then we have to take chemistry. and any other science for the 3rd or 4th year. Only juniors and seniors can sign up for ap.

That’s good, in a sense, but sucks in another.

My school is so politically schemed, they push every single kid into an AP class as soon as possible. 95+% of freshman are put into at least one AP class. Why? Because the superintendent gets a nice fat check for every student who is in an AP class… regardless of their score on the AP exam.

waaaat. i wish that happened at my schoool. i had to force my way into the ones that im in.

SeekingUni & yearsofwisdom,
I wouldn’t want to take an AP class as a freshman! I’d die!
at our school, freshman aren’t supposed to sign up for any APs.

btw SeekingUni, just wondering… did you study hard for bio though? did you cram? :P

I kept up with it throughout the school-year. I’m not exactly cramming; just re-reading Cliff’s from front to back. It’s all just refreshing my memory. However, there are some units that we didn’t cover in class (e.g. animal systems and reproduction), which I covered today.

I’ve taken three released exams, and I’m going to take a fourth tomorrow as well as some released FRQs - so that I can simulate the 100% real thing.

So yes, I’ve studied hard (all throughout the year and a bit now), but I’m not exactly cramming. I probably could have done well without reviewing… but why risk it if I have time?

AP bio was really easy now that I look back on it…

Our proctor accidentally cut us off 10 minute short so I had over 10 blanks on my MC portion that I didn’t complete. I thought I got a 3 but I ended up getting a 5 haha. Pretty much all my friends got 4’s or 5’s.

Take a day and just cram as much Cliffnotes as you can…that’s what everyone in my school did :)

AP Chem imo is way harder…
It depends on the person, but AP Chem has more application of concepts and math+common sense stuff.

happymunkee
icic. i’m terrified of what the free responses might be!! i think i’ll end up leaving some blank…

i bought the cliffnotes book, but i don’t think i can read all of it.
i guess i’ll just read whatever I can. ><

NOOO, don’t leave ANY FRQ or any portion of an FRQ blank! See this thread for details: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/925369-ap-bio-frq.html</a></p>

As soon as you put your pen down with time still left, you have given up; you quit; you prevent yourself from possibly earning more points.

I’m extremely nervous about the test. This is the one test that I really want to get a 5 in.

i’m like freaking out right now. my class didn’t get to finish animals and plants section and the exam is within 2 days. i have the Cliffs notes prep book but i haven’t even had a chance to look at it. i think i’m just gonna go over the FRQs.

…im nervous too… hopefully the FRQ will be stuff that i know. and that the released exams i took will be recycled. I took 1999 version 3 times and got 102 Correct out of 119 and 2 skipped and 15 incorrect…

fail^?

^^^lol no need to spam the page. just answer the question.

i only used about a paragraph for each question. no need to spew out BS unless you have no idea what you’re doing, then you should just spew out BS and hope you score some points.
