Ap biology exam concerns and questions

Hello I am taking two ap exams including ap bio ap exam in less than a month and the sat bio and am not feeling confident in getting at least a 4. So i wanted to start studying right now. Does anyone know if reading the textbook from the class is absolutely necessary? Because how would using the textbook vs using the review book make a big difference?. The classes in my school including the ap classes and work load is generally easy but it hasn’t prepared me for the difficulty of the actual exam so i must study at home. Also the teachers are not the best and its hard to learn anything in class.

I was thinking of doing this in chronological order to prepare for the exam : Please feel free to revise or suggest changes to my study plan

  1. AP bio review book like Barons ------first skim over review book
  2. Lecture videos on you tube (Bozeman) / khan academy------then watch lecture video on the topic
  3. Review handouts, old exams , quizzes and notes from class----finally look over old handouts from class

I feel doing these three things a bit each day will be a good replacement for reading the textbook from my class and will prepare me well. Anyone care to disagree and explain why?
for me its just that the textbook has too much details, lengthy and hard to read for prolonged period of time.

P.S. if anyone has been able to get a 4 or 5 onthe exam without using the textbook or relying on it too much please share your experience and what you did. Because i am still not convinced that reading the textbook will give me an advantage over review book. Also time management is a big issue for me so using so many different resources including the textbook can be counter-productive

Also is it ok for me to use the 2013 edition of the ap barrons review or should i just not rely too much on the review book and videos but just stick to reading the textbook?
