so the exam is like in 2 days for me and i'm worried about the essays. anyone have any ideas about this years FRQs?

What I’ve noticed is that every year there’s one especially hard FRQ that you’re screwed for if you don’t know.

Last year it was the plant reproduction cycle. Crazy complicated.
Before there was gel electrophoresis
or the Chi square

And you have to “design a lab.” It’s guaranteed you won’t have a clue what to do. It’s okay, just BS it and put related vocab in there.

The other two essays should be doable. But don’t forget info from the beginning. For example, last year there was one on the bonds between tertiary proteins.

If you feel like you failed the test it’s okay. That’s what most people I know including myself thought last yr. 5’s all around. Good luck!

gel electrophoresis wouldn’t be too bad, something about positive feedback regarding hormones though would be the worst situation for me. god i wish we could get structure (levels) of a protein that would be ideal…

I personaly hope for a question about photosynthesis! (fingers crossed)

I agree. The plant reproductive cycle last year was just ridiculous. It was so complicated.

Yeah, 2003 (I think?) has a question on Chi-Square. I honestly have no idea how to do this because I have never taken Stats, and usually Chi-Square isn’t taught in Algebra or calculus…

I would be so happy if there was a Chi-squared question, having had AP Stat it makes it really easy.

I would love Chi-Square! AP Stats is so useful/related for/to AP Bio! xD

^ Chi-square = Bad for people who never took stats. :(

Never took stat and chi-square is pretty easy I think. Its just making a null hypothesis and proving it/disproving it by looking at data -look at degree of freedom and do some calculations look at the chart. Or is there more to it?

My teachers saying evolution.

well about the chi-square test, there’s always been an FRQ relating specifically to one of the 12 AP labs, and i guess collegeboard expected everyone to do that lab #7 w/ the chi-square. i think its a really good idea to review all 12 of the labs, because like last year that would have really helped with the primary productivity question. so if you know the labs, there’s an easily do-able 7-10 points.

It’s always so random…
I would ‘love’ them if they have it on photo, respi, circulatory, animal (deuterostome, protostome things), or digestion…
I personally hate plants… I just hope they dont have much about it.

Yeah i want a Chi-Squared one too!!! The easiest lab ever. Yay AP Stats

I think that it might be on either cellular respiration, photosynthesis, or evolution. We just went over all of the reproduction and menstrual cycle in class…has there been an essay on either of those subjects in the recent past?

Evolution is easy to just bs the way though. Write whatever comes to mind.

^I agree. That and ecology are easy to bs.

mitosis or meiosis would be good as well…

lolol immune

I hate immune with a passion =(

No labs please…we didn’t really do any labs this entire year…LOL
