I am pretty good at AP level sciences and wondered if anyone would recommend taking it. Can anyone inform me on the difficulty, workload, time dedication, and effectiveness at preparing for the exam? Any tips or things to note?
I am taking it on FLVS right now. It is SUPER easy. I don’t know anything about biology (never took it in middle school and I am a freshman) and I have a 100. Just read the Campbell’s textbook and you will be fine. There is not really any busy work and only like 80 assignments for the whole year. I took AP chem and this was 1000000x eaiser. You have to submit like 3 assignments a week but all 3 take me like 3 hours max. I would say 3 hours a week for a AP science class is pretty good. The exams are extremely easy and everything is in the textbook. FLVS makes you do college board exam practice (it is built it) so you’re very prepared for the exam. highly recommend.
@TherealAPqueen just curious, how are the labs for the class? Do the labs simulate peering into a microscope effectively (as an example)?
Yes kind of! They usually give you 2 options to do a lab. You can try to do it yourself and record the data, or you can watch a video of someone else doing the experiment.
