Ya that sucked. Literally should NOT have studied for bio AT ALL and should’ve studied more for physics. There is literally no point in studying for this new bio exam. No need for content, just logic and analysis.
@SugarSmarts unfortunately, thats not how it works. They already set the standards for what they want so our performance doesnt really affect anything.
does this score calculator seem right to you guys? it says a 5 is around 60% (and my teacher said a similar number) but I saw someone here say it’s ~79% http://www.apcalculator.com/calculator/biology.php
@an88gela i forgot to ask, do you think the way they score the exam this year is similar to last year? Because, for example, i know that the last 3 frqs last year were of a 3 point value each. This year, however, i believe the last two frqs are of 3 points (at least thats what i think it said today on the information on the answer packet)
I am very nervous and anxious about what i got on the exam. I’ll only be content with a 5 so im praying for a 5!

anything above a lower 60% would get you a 4 or 5. Typically if you were able to answer most or all questions on the AP Biology exam that guarantees you a 4 or a 5(like if you come down to like 2 answer choices after eliminating on most questions).
I also took the test today and it was quite hard, the curve should be lower this year than last year.
Pissed is an understatement. That test had so much material on one big unit and mostly neglected and barely touched on the others. Still think I did pretty good. Fingers crossed.
I also think it could be like that because this years free response was hard, I was bummed out because the free response questions were a little weird.
I neglected the body system when studying and it payed off big time looool. I think we had a total of 2 questions max on the body systems. Also the frq’s were extremely easy you just interpreted the information and justified it with given knowledge and/or minimal background knowledge.

Likewise.
“I took way too much time early on the FRQ’s which screwed me in the end and I missed basically an entire FRQ question. I didn’t realize how much time pressure was a factor in the FRQ’s so I took my time. Anyways, definitely got at least a 4, maybe a lucky 5…”
The same thing happened to me; in fact, I was skipping around so much on the FRQs that I thought I had done all 8, then people started talking to me about prolactin and I’m just like “???”. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, the last few FRQs are only like 3 points anyway right? You’re still in a good position for a five.
“does this score calculator seem right to you guys? it says a 5 is around 60% (and my teacher said a similar number) but I saw someone here say it’s ~79%”
It seems pretty inflated. I’m pretty sure the cutoff is around an 80%.
The last frq question seemed so straight forward that I thought it was a trick question lol so I just sat there for like 5 min trying find the “underlying meaning”.
I agree with you all. I spent way too much time studying stuff I didn’t need to know. But this is all in retrospect, so we couldn’t have possibly known what was going to be on the exam; therefore, we felt the need to inundate ourselves with as much information as possible. Even though the MCQ was fairly easy, I feel like there was still opportunity to royally mess up (I wasn’t sure about two experiment-based passages). And the FRQs managed to confuse me as well. I definitely got one entire FRQ wrong and parts of other ones.
