AP calc preparation

Ok so basically I'm not very well versed in math and I am taking Ap calc AB next year. It is the only class I'm particularly worried about. How should I go about preparing and what not during summer?

I had summer work for calc ab- it was mostly a bunch of pre-calc stuff so you could practice that if you want. My calc teacher also frequently complained that we all had awful algebra skills.

basically, just do lots of math

Go over basic algebra. You’d be surprised by some of the simple things you forget when you’re in calculus like factoring, etc.

I was talking with my uncle about something like this, actually, the other day. We both expressed frustration because, if it were up to us, Calculus would come before Geometry, Trigonometry, or even intermediate algebra. Calculus can derive everything else. It should be taught from very early, and as topics in Trig and Geometry come up, they can be introduced through the lens of Calculus. That would have made math so much quicker and less boring.

But to answer your question: just understand factoring and basic trig. The rest is pretty easy. Reading a Math II SAT prep book and leaving out the probability and statistics parts should prepare you for the way AB is taught.

Alright cool! Factoring has always been my downfall… no idea why because I mastered trig
