Im going to self study ap calc AB most likely(maybe BC) and i was wondering if there were any prep books that also taught you how to use the graphing calculator for the test because ive never been taught how to use it.

Im definitely getting PR's ap Calc and im looking at Arco's too. Any recommendations or comments would be appreciated.

Buy the manual for your calc? Not sure on that but you suggest you master your calculator skills because in our AP Calc, it’s definitely a necessity!! A lot of people have suggested Petersons Calc for prep, and Spivak for textbook.

^Umm, don’t get Spivak unless you really like math and/or want to be a math major (or something very similar). It’s overkill for the AP exam. If you just want a 5, get Stewart’s or Larson’s textbook.

The Peterson’s/Arco book (same thing) extensively covers the use of your calculator, so you’d be fine with that; I’m not sure about PR or other books.

avoid finney’s book like the plague. I don’t know why my school uses it. The examples in the book jump 5 or so steps ahead and they keep re-iterating material we don’t need. I learn more from hippocampus.org than that book.
