AP Calc Score+Test

So I got a B one sem in AP Calc BC, and I also got a 4 on the AP test. Only three people in the past ten years have not gotten a 5 on that test. I insist that I'm pretty good at math, not that there's any way to prove it or anything. Another problem . . . I want to apply for Mech E at all the tops: MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, Caltech, etc. I have a high SAT and triple-800 on SATIIs. My questions are as follows:

1) Do colleges look at AP Test Scores, especially in comparison to your school?
2) Do these stats automatically disqualify me from these top colleges?
3) Would placing at least Semifinalist, possibly Finalist in Intel, make up for it?
4) Should I send the score in or not?
5) Would it make sense to retake Calc BC online (maybe Stanford EPGY) just to show that I do actually have interest in the material, but I got lazy for the course and Collegeboard made a mistake on the AP test?
6) Should I call myself out on my essays and attempt to explain myself?

take a deep breath first! it’s not the end of the world! One test is not going to kill you. You could talk about it an essay, but then i feel like you would also be exaggerating the non-issue. Just keep going! I would still send in the score - most colleges of that high caliber are accepting of high 4s and 5s… I don’t really think Collegeboard made a mistake on the AP test though lol

Haha I don’t think they made a mistake either, don’t get me wrong. I meant that more as essay inspiration that anything.
