So scheduling for next year is coming up fast & I'm trying to decide if I should take AP Calc next year. I'm pretty decent in math like I don't think I would fail, but then again I'm not sure. I feel like calc is one of those things that is hard whether you're taking prep or AP...but then again I'm not sure lol.
My schedule for next year as of right now is:
AP English
APUSH
AP Chem. or AP physics
AP calc???
Spanish 3 or AP Spanish language
Cross country
Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

That amount of AP courses that you are taking is pretty excessive. I would consider which credits are most applicable for the college you want to apply to. The ones that give you low, or possibly no credits shouldn’t even be considered.

AP Calc is really not that bad if you have a good teacher and you put in the work for it. no idea about balancing it with ap chem/physics though

Your schedule is about like mine this year, except I have no foreign language and I have AP Gov/AP Micro/Macro instead of APUSH. I also have cross county, math team (captain), debate team, scholars bowl, and track (top 3 scorer at meets). I got all A’s for the first semester, and it was a pain, but overall it was doable.

I happen to really like calc, so I’d say go for it. If its AB and not BC you should take it for sure (I’m in AB since we don’t have BC, and its really easy). Btw I’ve heard AP Chem is easier than AP Physics. I wasn’t able to take AP Chem due to scheduling conflicts, but I’m in AP Physics B. Its probably my hardest AP class (mainly due to the teaching quality), and we had a low 70%ish class average (I still managed an A). In other words, I’d say go with chem instead of physics (all my friends that have/had AP chem say its way easier).

@Nitsua24 Okay thank you! @tonymrx tbh I’ll probably take a max of 4 APs. My school only offers prep or AP in pretty much all courses starting junior year and I’d rather not be in too many prep classes lol.

I think you should take it! I’m taking BC right now and it’s really not a hard class. There’s a bit of thinking outside of the box, but it’s mainly learning concepts and if you put in the effort, you’ll probably be fine.

@Patton370 thank you so much your post actually made me feel alot better about it lol @loltired thank you! Okay guys thanks for the advice I think I’ll take the class

Eh, this is College Confidential. Go for it.

Yes, take it. Its the easiest AP class. I self studied it.
