***AP Calculus AB 2015-2016 Thread***

For the arc sin question you had to use u-substitution and the derivative of arcsin is 1/(1-x^2)^1/2. Which means the du was already in the problem which made it pretty simple tbh.

Yeah it couldn’t possibly be 7. When you integrate f"(2x) it becomes 1/2 f’(x) BUT you have to make sure you alter the boundaries too.

The new boundaries would be 2 to 6 while the old ones were 1 to 3.

@classof2017 There were two approximations: one in mcq which was 3.6 and one that was in frqs which was 3.9.

Yea you guys are right. It’s supposed to be 7/2, Darn it. How many points do you think I’ll lose fort that?

probably just 1 point

K great.

Did anyone else question the section order of the differential FRQ? I had to solve part c before I could actually solve part b. But since I had no-calc I guessed the approximation was like 3.5 or something.

it was like 1/2 or something for inverse I am pretty sure

oh do you guys remember the min and max question on the non-calculator frq? It gave you a graph, which areas had to be taken (mostly triangles) g = integral from 2 to x f(x) dx

@desiboy1998 Tell me what you got and I’ll see if that rings a bell for me. I remember the question but not what answer I chose lol.

How does the curve work guys. Getting 50% right in the multiple choice and like 3 points in each frq question can get u a 3 or no? I mean i did better than that but i just want to know?

@harsh98 Yesss I remember I got that for the inverse question. 1/2 it was fam.

Yeah @Kelvas That was an annoying question for me since I didn’t know how to word my answer.

@Kelvas - yeah, i think the max value was 8 and the min value was -2. Something along those lines…

@YoohooAddict ok here is what i remember u had the eqution f(x) then they say g(2)=3 so this is what i did 1/f prime(3) where i derived f(x) function then i plugged the 3 in. I want to know if f inverse was 3 not 2

But for part a of that question, @Kelvas there was no local extrema at t = 10 because the derivative didn’t change from positive to negative or viceversa at t = 10

Did anyone get 109/ 60 and 2209pi/ something for that horrible funnel question? A. avg value and B. volume

Also I got 58,050 for the total water in the tank but i think i missed it because i forgot to subtract the water leaving.

Ugh I ended up with -1/2. Oh well. I got -8 at x=-2 for the min and 8 at x=6 or something for the max. But I have no clue haha.

And 8050 for the riemann, -120 for the first slope, and like 3 sqrt of e ln x-1 or something for the dq
