I have my AP Exam in a week and I feel like I am mostly prepared, but I just found out that with the calculator sections, the calculator is "un-bounded" as in you can program or put in anything prior to the test. They do not clear the memory of the calculator. Are there any helpful programs I can personally install that will make steps quicker? As in finding the derivative or integral equation by just plugging it in?

And on top of that, is there any tips or tricks or crucial equations that will be helpful?

Thank you! I just joined this site and it looks like everyone is pretty helpful with their responses, but please don't take this forum off on a tangent (:

now remember that the purpose of using programs to speed up calculations, so familarize yourself with them, and don’t get bogged down.
you should definitely manually put in every equation that you can think of, like common taylor series, into a program on your calculator to not only review, but to provide peace of mind.

welcome to the parrrrtttyyy

EDIT: wait I just saw that you’re taking AB, so scratch taylor series. maybe trig derivatives/integrals and vol of rev equations?

If you have any calculator that says TI-83 or TI-84 then that is the calc program you want. If you have a TI-89 or TI-nspire then you have all that functionality in your calculator. So knowing how to use your calculator will help.

For Part B of Section I, I think the questions are easier and you get more time for each question. For some questions, if you use process of elimination, do the same thing one would do in SAT Critical reading sections - try to justify an answer to be wrong than figuring out if it is right.

But the most crucial tip is to know everything for the mutiple choice so you don’t have to resort to cheap techniques, and for the FRQs always try to answer the question because FRQs are graded holistically.

2redpartyhats: Thank you! I will check out the program and hook it up to my calculator!

Techhexium: It is a TI-84 Plus, so it does not include all the function capabilities. But thank you for the tips and those links! Very helpful
