AP Calculus AB or BC?

I am a sophomore at a boarding school and I have to decide the courses to take next year.
For math, I can take Ap calculus Ab or AP Calculus BC. But I am not very good at math even though I have taken honor Algebra II and Honor Precalculus. And I am thinking about taking AP calculus AB instead of BC. But I am afraid that my admission will get hurt if I do not take the most rigorous math class. So my qustion is "

Can you get an A in Calc BC if you work really hard?

If the answer is yes, and you’ll work for it, I’d do it.

If I take AB, then I can get A. But I don’t think I can get A from BC.

I remember a phase where people ask “lower grade in higher class or higher grade in lower class” where the answer would usually be “lower grade in higher class.” But in the end, after all these applications and seeing 4.0CP course takers get in everywhere AP course takers got into, I would say take the class you would most likely get an A in. (GPA matters a lot). You said math wasn’t your strong point, and if it isn’t your interest either, then take AB. Plus, you can spend the extra time to make sure you get higher grades in other classes too.

Oh, and BOTH classes are AP courses, so the “lower grade in higher class” rule should apply less here, if at all.

Also, this is just my opinion from personal experience. I might be wrong.

honestly, do you think that taking ap calculus ab over ap calculus bc will be the tipping point for them to say yes or no? haha could you imagine the admissions officer saying, “you know if he had only taken bc his junior year, then maybe he’d be a go.”

take a rigorous schedule but don’t overload yourself

I doubt they’d say that ^… however, it is likely that they’d say “hey, he chose to took a harder class. that’s good!”
