AP Calculus AB Test Discussion

I actually think part B of MC was good. I didnt like part A, and omitted 3 questions. I had troubles with both of the last free response question on calc and non calc section, part c and d. Still, I am hoping for a 5.

Part A and B of MC were fair. Part B was barely calculator active lol. I’m sure I got 3 out of the 6 FRQs completely right. For the rest, I got partial credit as I left one part blank on each or got it wrong.

6 on the free response was absolutelyyyyyyyyy ridiculously brutal

the only thing i got from that were the inflection points, which might even be wrong…

Omitted 4 from the first multiple choice =/, but answered all of the second part (pretty sure they were correct as well).

FRQ’s I answered 3 pretty much fully (maybe missed 1-2 pts on each), got almost all of 1 (missed probably 4/15), messed up the second half of one, and messed up the middle part of one (missed probably 6-8 of 15).

Part A was pretty do-able. B was more challenging, but still do-able
The FRQ threw me off though. I blanked on on 6 B/C and 5C :frowning:
I messed up 4B too.
:frowning: I should have a 3 minimum and maybe i’ll pull out with a 4. 5 is definitely a no at this point–oh well

wow is this true? You can get 50% or 60% on the ENTIRE exam and still get a 4 or a 5?

Wow… And I’ve been a nervous wreck for awhile now. BTW my school extended it so I’m taking it May 22nd. Anyone care to give me some pointers on what I should expect ;)

Anyone have any idea what a 4 omitted on the multiple choice and 5-6 wrong (guessing, I was actually slightly more confident than this) plus 8’s on three of the FRQ’s plus 7 on one and 4’s on the other two would translate to out of 5?

Btw, its ok to ask for score translations as long as we don’t reveal any test content correct?

Hmmm I definitely got 5c right on the tangent part, not the secant part though lol. Not sure about that. As for #6 I’m hoping for the best and maybe I did it right.

I think non-calc mc was very easy, while the calc mc was a bit challenging. Overall definitely a 4+, good chance for a 5.

@Saedeas: Assuming 35 right, 6 wrong, 4 omitted gives 33.5 raw * 1.2 = 40 (rounded).

FR: 8 + 8 + 8 + 7 + 4 + 4 = 39

Total: 79.

If that’s right, you should be well clear for a 5. If you’re off on your counts for MC wrong by 5 or more, though, it gets dicier.

I struggled with parts, and then thought others were ridiculously easy. Admittedly, I didn’t know some of the material that well, and I did a decent amount of guessing. I’m not flipping out though.

did anyone else think that the last question for noncalculator should have been calculator?

Not really, there wasn’t much calculator needed for it. It could have been done by hand.

M.C. was a breeze I think, maybe a few were off, but good guesses I hope. FRQ was quite brutal. I didn’t get part 1B, 2 was iffy, but I might of gotten most of it right, and 5C I got the majority of it. Number 6 I do not remember, but I think I got it all right.

I am overly confident I got a super high 4, and a very high chance of a 5 I think.

54 points for FR. (9 points, 6 questions)

45 questions on MC * 1.2

Add em up to get 108

Hmmm… When can we discuss M.C. lol!!!

my answers were so long for the last one though

im 99% sure i got a five…destroyed the MC and got almost all of the FRQ’s except for like 3 letters i wasnt 100% sure about, and the 6th one WAS more challenging than what i saw when studying…i think i got it but my evidence was really shaddy lol…i had trouble showing how the rel. max was greated than the endpoints

How do you find secant line? LOL
That was the only part I didn’t get of 5. xD

what do you guys think a 55-58 will get me?
in AB?

My teacher said the secant line was the mean value theorem. Something like that.
