secant line is old school slope

A 55-58 will likely be a 4.

A secant line, in general, is a line that connects two points on a curve. So, if you have the curve y = x^2 and connect (0, 0) and (2, 4) with a line, that line is a secant line.

The Mean Value Theorem is a little different. What the Mean Value Theorem says (continuing with the example above) is that somewhere on the curve y = x^2 on the interval [0, 2], there is a point on the curve that has a derivative equal to the slope of the secant line. In this case, the secant line has a slope of 2, the derivative of y = x^2 is y’ = 2x, and therefore, 2x = 2 at x = 1.

Okay so i have really mixed feelings right now. I have done super well in calc all year and my calc teacher is insistent that I am going to get a five, like no doubt about it. BUT idk
haha
i thought the that multiple choice were pretty dang easy but the FR were hard. especially the last one. so im kinda doubting myself right now…
i didnt like the second or third calculator FR either…i just got kinda thrown on by the wordiness of them. i dont think they were necessarily that hard. just reading them and sifting through all that stuff was the hard part for me today. Im not sure why…not focused on the test or what…

man, in that problem, for the first one i wrote intermediate value theorem, and the second one that asked about the secant i wrote about the mean value theorem. i was kinda BSing

RoflcopterSoi - Should be a 4

Old school slope?! Arghhh

Xfox…same situation…M.C. Breeze, FRQ was okay. I think I got a 5 though since 66 is a 5???

Thought the non-calculator MC was easy, a few on the calculator were tough. The calculator FR was really easy, and left me feeling confident, but the non-calculator was kind of tough. 5D got me (I knew I had no real grasp on secant line / tangent line – managed to get the tangent part, but the secant didn’t happen) and 6C was really difficult for one of the points. Ended up guessing.

I don’t know… I was borderline 3/4 in all practice tests, and I feel like that’s where I stayed.

i followed my friends advice -_-
i didnt know what they meant by blanking out. your mind actually becomes kind of blank and you cant do shiet. i couldnt even read the problems dude

my friend told me if i slept 2-3 hours, id wake up not being sleepy. the kids a mathematical genius dude, so i followed his advice, andit completely killed me

If you seemed to do that well silversaline with an easy MC and a few hard on calc. You should be getting a 5, unless a few means 20.

■■■■ RolfcopterSoi. True story today.

I started sweating and feeling light headed because I was using a pen and everyone around me was using a pencil and I was crossing stuff out. I went nuts and I was worried too because for the seal, i started from the back side to seal and when I sealed the front, it went into the signing area, but nothing got covered but the border.

dude, we are the cool people of the hood

I definitely think I killed the MC…it was super easy…
the FRQ’s…not so much. I think I got the first one in each section…and hopefully parts of the rest…

my friend had one of the best answers for the last part of #4…

i actually went out on a limb and drew a big hairy pen-is, and then just put a cross over it

I drew a picture of a stick person standing on a cliff next to a door that said “FRQ’s” and I drew shark infested water at the bottom…then I put a question mark over the person’s head and drew and arrow for the person to jump off the cliff…

My testing area (Asheville, North Carolina) was under a tornado WARNING but we continued on anyway. That was an unusual testing situation.

It was pouring rain over here in Washington. Probably not a big deal considering it’s Washington. lol

I’ll be happy with a 3.

what was #6? Is it a graph with a semicircle and line? if it is then thats was easy, surprised people cannot read a derivative graph

The MC was pretty easy, got destroyed by the FRQ though.

My proctor messed up the directions and I put two seals around Part A. So, basically I dont have a seal that goes all the way around the middle part (I put one on the top and bottom tho)

Anyone have experience of this? What should we do? Will my scores be canceled?
