phew...after reading all these posts im kind of in a better mood...my teacher taught calc for the first time cuz the last teacher retired..so he was really badd...at it.but he tried..the MC was good..I had form Q...The FR was quite difficuly thought i answered 2 questions fully..n for the other one...i answered 1 part of each question.

What exact is the difference between form Q and R?

Lubinli -

The differnet forms have different question order and answer choice orders to prevent cheating

according to my teacher, the cut off for a 3 on the 03 exam was a 40/108, which basically means that since our test was INSANE, a 3 would be in the mid 30s? i think i got a low 30 to mid 30 (out of 45) on the multiple choice alone and then i think i only got about 20/54 on the free response, maybe even lower on the free response (15/54).i just blanked and couldn't think and started freaking out. i hope i get a 3, i think with a curve there MIGHT be a chance for a 4, and out of range for a 5.

Do you know the cut off for a 4? My guess is 60, but anyone have previous years' cutoffs?

03 had something like a 55 or 57, it was right around there.

holy crap...FR was so hard...ommited 2 in the first one and didn't omit any on the second part, but i know i got the last one wrong..the one with the square and the rates. -_- crap

BAD NEWS:

Look at the CB site...
THE CURVE IS SET BASED ON MC SECTIONS ONLY!

We all failed...

^^ omg shut up.....
ur seriously kidding rite?

link please

damn.

well, u never know...they might change things ; they will realize that no one did well at all.

What the heck

did anyone find question 1 on the frq a bit ambiguous? i thought it was worded quite poorly.

Can someone post that link

Except I think they do look at the free response also when determining the cut offs. I know in Physics there was one really hard free response practice test we took and my teacher had the something from the collegeboard talking about how students performed worse than they had anticipated and therefore the cutoffs for 5 4 3 2 1 were lower. On that test a 5 was like a 49 / 90 when it usually is a 59 / 90.

"Equating relates an AP Exam from one year to an AP Exam from another year so that performance on the two exams can be compared. This is accomplished by looking at how well AP students performed on a set of multiple-choice questions that is common to both exams."

Note the "multiple-choice questions" piece of it...

Number 1 on the calc active? Yeah, it took me a minute to absorb what they exactly wanted there.

And there's no way that the curve is set for MC only. This year's exam is similar to last year's Stat exam in that the MC was pretty easy and the FRQ were devestating; I left 2 and a half of the FRQ completely blank and still pulled a 5. It won't be as bad as you think.

Don't dampen my spirits more than they have already been damped. :(

ColdEggNog, you probably had the rest right though. Most of us here left a lot blank, and had incorrect answers for the ones that we did do. :o:(

The free-response section is scored at the annual AP Reading held during the first two weeks in June. Specially appointed college professors and experienced AP teachers evaluate free-response answers.

The process of grade setting—establishing the AP grade boundaries (determining how many composite score points equals what AP grade)—takes place immediately after the Reading.
