***AP Calculus BC Thread 2015-2016***

That’s so helpful!!! Thank you so much!!!

hey guys, I’m having some trouble with Taylor and Maclaurin…

In 2004 FRQ 6, the method used was the general Taylor Formula to find the answer.

However, in 2007 FRQ 6, they just used direct substitution. When do you use which? Is there a specific rule? Thanks!

Hey guys, for last minute studying, I found this guy to be helpful!

Do you guys know if I can do fine without the Barron’s book (aiming for a 5). I’m gonna use past tests that are posted online – is that enough?

time to start studying

Hey guys! I’m new to CC, and just wanted to ask about what percentage I will need for a 5. At the beginning of the year, I took AP Calc AB first semester, but then I moved and had to take BC, as it was the only available AP Calc. Any advice?

@Soccer1235 I think you need to get about 60% of the possible points for a 5

I was really worried about this exam because my math class this year has been absolutely horrible. Our teacher is so disorganized and doesn’t seem to understand the material herself.

My local university runs practice math AP exams in April, so as practice last week, I took the full AP Calc BC exam from 2015 and ended up getting a 5. I scored 74 out of 108 possible points. About 62 points are needed for a 5 and about 45 for a 4. 2/3 of the exam is made of purely AB topics, so most of the exam wasn’t difficult at all.

Anyways, my point is please don’t stress too much about the exam! You don’t have to understand all the BC concepts perfectly to do well.

I hope I can get a five…the curve seems promising

I had to self-study the Calc BC material because I couldn’t take the class after Calc AB, due to schedule conflicts.

@fcm951: The barrons is overkill. I can usually only get 60% on Barrons, but score around 80% on past tests. Just do the past FRQs and released tests, you should be able to get a 5!

@ccislame1 thanks!

Just took the AP Lit test…time to cram for Calc BC…

Hi guys, does anyone know when we get breaks during the calc exam?

@blazingflames17 we get breaks in between MC and FR

do we have to have 3 decimal places on every free response answer?

@pianoswim yes you must round up to 3 decimal places or keep the last 3 decimal places and not round up.

This is prob my easiest ap test. Wish you all luck tommorow though. I got physics, macro and micro next week and I need to study hella for those.

This is also my easiest AP test. It’s nice because tonight I can study for APUSH and AP Bio in the time that I would take to study for this test. We did so much prep in class that I’m not even worried.

So can I do more than 3 decimal places or not?

@Soccer1235 I would do 3 decimal places because that is how it shows up on the grading rubric. Just to be safe.
