AP Calculus

I was wondering if I should be taking AP calculus AB or BC as a junior. From what I know, you can either test out of AB to go to BC, where a years worth of information is taught in a semester. If anyone could clarify the difference between the two, that would be great. I would also appreciate your personal experiences with the two. Thanks!

@tspmf12 You can look up the topics covered in AB and BC online.

The Calculus BC exam has a pretty significant portion of AB-only material (such as limits, derivatives, related rates, basic integration). You also get an AB subscore.

I got 5s on both AB and BC. In terms of difficulty, BC is pretty easy if you have solid preparation in earlier courses, including algebra, trig, pre-calc, and Calculus AB. However it can be very difficult if you don’t have adequate preparation.

Okay, thanks!

AB is one college semester, BC is 1.5; if you are a strong math student, take BC, all of AB is taught in BC plus extra.
