AP Chem 2012 Scores

Got a 5, so surprised! I had an AWFUL teacher and got a 740 on the SAT II.

Got a 4. A 5 would have been nice but I pretty much knew after taking the test that I got a 4.

I only got a 3 on this one. I was expecting somewhere from 3-5, since it was a total crap shoot depending on the test. The pressure put on me to get a 5 was mind boggling, so it’s kind of relieving and disappointing at the same time.

I got a 5 even though I got 730 on Chem SAT II. I had a really really good teacher though so I didn’t have to study for the AP exam :)

I feel like a failure. I was almost 100% sure I would get at least a 4. I just don’t understand. I didn’t think I did that bad. I got the credit I needed for college, but this is always going to be in the back of my mind.

I got a 5 which was a big surprise for me and I only got 730 for the SAT II, but I’m not complaining haha. Ironic I get a 5 in Chem (supposedly the harder subject) and a 3 in Bio (supposedly the easier subject).

I got a 3, but I self-studied… I thought I had gotten a 2. lmao. 730 on the SAT II though…

Worst part though? I found out in the beginning of June my school was going to start offering the actual class. ■■■■■

Oh well, I learned a lot so it was totally worth it.

got a 5! we had a new ap chem teacher this year but she was AWESOME. got a 780 on sat II

I got a 4 and was so surprised! expected a 2.
I love my teacher but she didn’t prep us for AP. Bunch of Chem, but not AP style. I got a 740 on the SATs and last year only one of her students (who is really good) for above a 3 (he got a 5) with most getting ones.
I don’t understand how, but I guess my studying payed off. Also got a 5 on Psych which I took right after!

Got a 4. I did really well on the FRQs but something really wrong must have happened on the Multiple Choice. >.>

I got a 5. Was expecting a 3. I calculated 10 quadrillion g/mol for the first free response and thought i bombed the mc. apparently not.

I got a 4. I knew I got at least a 4, but I wasn’t sure if I got a 5 or not (the practice exam I took when I didn’t study had me just scrape a 5… but it was WAY easier than the actual test on both FRQ/MC). I learned a lot in the course, my teacher was really good despite it being his first year of teaching it.

Considering I also had other exams to worry about (including psych shortly after) I’m not too disappointed. Still, I can’t help but feel some embarrassment that as a prospective chemistry major I did not get a 5 on the exam (it’s irrelevant in terms of credit for me).

I thought the MC went really well and the FRQ went okay. I know basically exactly where I screwed up on the FRQ, so the MC must have been worse than I thought. Guess that’s what I get for being an optimist. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh well, life goes on!

So far we have:

5: 5

4: 4

3: 3

I haven’t checked the other thread yet. I don’t know why we need two though. Good job guys we have 100% pass rate at least. Haha. But this is CC, so it makes sense.

i got a 3! i was really scared because on the day of i was so nervous that i didnt see some of the questions on the frq portion. i think i skipped a whole page because i didnt see the questions on top -__- if that makes sense

Got a 4. Not bad, but a 5 would have looked real nice.

5: 5

4: 5

3: 4

I just got a message from my teacher saying that 6 other people in my class got 3’s and 1 4. It’s not that she’s a bad teacher, they just didn’t put in the time, or the test was just harder than expected and didn’t just do as well as they would’ve hoped. The latter is what happened to me.

I’m curious, how many people did you have in your class? Was it 7 total? My AP chem class was always on the larger side (first semester our lab was so crowded that my group had to work in the… questionably clean fume hood and share lab apparatuses with other groups because of a lack of our own. I don’t miss that.)

Just wondering 'cause next year since the other teacher who taught AP chem for 20+ years is not teaching it any more, which is a shame because he’s a chemistry guru (god more like it) and a very, very nice man. So they’re dividing the classes into smaller bits, so instead of 2 classes with 26 kids there will be 4 with 13 kids.

I come from a really small school of only about 400 students total. This year we only had 15 kids in AP Chemistry (10 juniors and 5 seniors with being one of them). All the seniors were also in AP Calc (AB). As far as I know only one of those seniors passed both exams. Two others just barely passed with a 3 in Calc and the 4th one got a 2. I was just in precalc this year. 2/5 seniors passed the Chem test with a 3 (me being one) and I think only 5 juniors passed with four 3’s and one 4. Everybody else got 2’s and 1’s.

I think most of them were cocky coming into this class thinking they could get by, by not studying as much and still get an A for the class. By the end of April everyone was checked out and I’m pretty sure they just didn’t care anymore. So in total I think 7/15 kids passed which is by far thr best year my teacher’s ever had. I’m still upset I didn’t get a 4 though. Haha.

Did you guys get your scores in the mail or by email or did you check online? I still haven’t gotten my scores yet and I’m extremely nervous for Chem

You can’t check your scores online, but you can pay the collegeboard 8$ to hear them over the phone. I did just that because I had ants in my pants. That being said, I’m in WI and me and everyone I know in WI got their paper results today or yesterday.
