1 on AP Chem due to my senioritis and not giving a f*** lol

If it had been an AP Art test I wouldve gotten a 5

I literally drew pictures for the open ended (off topic ones haha) and guessed Cs on all the MC.

woah @herozero1234 …you realize you wasted like $90 right?

How many separate hours did you guys study for this AP? separate meaning outside of school

Did anyone here self-study a 5?

I scored a 1. My teacher was horrible and knew nothing. I used princeton review and read it for 5 days but i knew i was going to fail the exam. Good job to people who passed it was a hard exam

April was our review month. I probably put in a good 2 hours a night at least 3 times a week. Something like that.

5: 18

4: 8

3: 4

2:

1: 3

Do you guys know who got what in your class? The breakdown for my class goes like this: (Out of 15 students)

5: 0
4: 0
3: 6
2: 5
1: 4

Yeah, my class is an epic fail. Hahaha.

Our class actually did quite well. About 2/3 of us got a 5, the average being a bit below 4.5 (one person who was failing all year got a 2, lowering the average). This is no fluke as last year our chem teacher had a 4.6 average.

I got a 5 !!! on chemistry and ALSO 5 on physics b
my SAT II CHEMISTRY: 780 and SAT II PHYSICS: 780
what a successful year :)

Random observation/note:

I was looking through the 2008 MC a few days ago (which imo was easier… very few of the questions gave me trouble) and I couldn’t help but notice that one of the questions was taken almost (perhaps entirely) verbatim from that exam and put onto the 2011-2012 MC. When I saw the question it jogged my memory. I know they rehash MC questions which is why they are not to be discussed, but still… interesting.

They repeat multiple choice questions to compare results on two different tests. For example, if the average score on repeated mc questions stays the same and the average on the new mc questions is lower than this average, the new mc questions were harder and there will be a more lenient curve.

Is it possible to self-study a 5 using ONLY the PR study guide?

everyone scored a 1 in my class. but two students got 4s and 1 student scored a 3.

I don’t think with just the PR book alone is enough to get a 5. It’s not as concise as Barron’s and it’s easier IMO compared to the actual test. The Open Courseware videos help, but there’s no way I could do it. I think it would be hard to self study AP Chemistry just because the vast amount of knowledge, formulas, and conceptual understanding you need to know. No one ever gets a perfect on this test just as one might on Biology or English. For good reason to, it’s hard as hell. The students who get 5s on this test really put their time into studying for this exam.

Anybody who did get a 5 not study for this test at all and thought this was one of the easiest classes you’ve ever taken in your life?

Yeah…that’s not me xD

Overall, I found it pretty easy. I got a 4, but I get the feeling that, if I’d actually reviewed, I’d have gotten a 5.

I tried to teach myself a few of the units near the end, but that meant that I didn’t have time to review the stuff we’d done in my class - the problem is that my school seems to believe that the only thing you need to do to be ready for AP Chem is to pass Chem 1, so most of the people in there, really shouldn’t’ve been in there, so we had to go slow, and, in the end, had to cut out a few units (such as Acids and Base), which was kind of annoying.

I’m ranting, sorry.

I still did not received my score…(live in GA).

If I miss 10~20 MCs but have good overall FRQ score, what does it falls under?

A solid 4, if not a 5. ^^

Woohoo 5. And an 800 on the Subject test.

My Class breakdown:

5: 25
4: 8
3: 2
2: 0
1: 1 <- Stupid Freshman who begged to take the AP Exam.

Okay, thank you for the reply.
I guess I’ll watch MIT’s open courseware videos for Chem and khanacademy, and then borrow my friend’s college chemistry textbook (though it’s not Zumdahl).

I got a 760 on the SAT II that I took in October (senior, so I had to take it early to get it on my apps) and cruised to a 5 on the AP exam come May. This was one of two exams that I felt strongest about.
