I'm taking AP Chemistry and AP Biology next year as a senior, can you please give me some tips that will help me stay on track to get a 5 on the AP tests/do well in class based on your experiences?

To get a 5 on both tests, take old released exams, study your mistakes, and finally do EVERY free response question on the College Board Website, and while full Bio answers may be long, a outline of major points and details is more than sufficient. This strategy has worked for every student in my school committed to performing well on AP tests.

My best piece of advise is, do NOT (repeat: NOT) wait until the 2nd semester to start studying from review books! When this has happened to me, if I waited until the 2nd semester, I found myself pushing the review book away. “I’ll study in February” became March, April, and then, the beginning of May!!
Create a quick but informative outline of the chapters you read from your textbook, and read the textbook alongside a review book. That way, you’ll be able to look at your notes in May and have both information from the textbook and tips from the review book. If they’re good enough notes, they might even serve you in college!
Also try looking into review buddies who are also taking the class. VERY helpful, because oftentimes, what you understand well your friend doesn’t understand, and vice versa. Not only can you teach each other, but when you try to teach something to someone, it only forces you to evaluate how well you actually know the subject and you’ll realize what parts you need to brush up on.

Good luck!
