i'm an admitted student and i was wondering if it would be worth it to take up the equivalent college credit (i got a 4 on ap chem & im majoring in pharm) i was thinking that it's a good idea to refresh my memory and possibly get a good grade for college chem but at the same time lab fees are expensive and so are textbooks

Gen chem doesn’t have lab fees. You need to buy goggles and a lab notebook (and sometimes a coat, although they gave my class their own).

Normally I would advise taking the credit, because you never know if you might really want to take an elective later on and not be able to. However if you are really certain that you can’t do orgo yet (like if you are a chem major but haven’t do chem in two years or something) then perhaps take Chemistry 2.

I can assure you that the grades DO NOT MATTER. On your resume, your total gpa matters and the list of applicable classes matters. If you got credit for AP chemistry then you can put down Gen chem 1 and 2, and I assure you that even if you are a brilliant chemist, there are better classes to take if you seriously just want a gpa fluffer. It will never matter that you got an A or A- on Chemistry 2. So take it based on how much you want more-- more choice later on, or more security for orgo.

(Let me just say that orgo is also really different from other chemistry levels though, so taking Chemistry 2 might not actually help you-- it depends on how much you need it.)
