out of these three classes..which 2 should would be best to take at the same time?thanks!

a girl in my AP bio class took AP chem last year and said that it has helped a lot so far...

Biology and Chemistry complement each other quite nicely.

Chemistry and Physics do, as well.

would it look weird to colleges if i took ap chemistry and ap physics my junior year and my to go back and take ap bio my senior year?

ummm ive taken both ap bio and chem and im taking ap phys c rite now and i dont see the relationship between any of them....anyways, ap bio is definitely the easiest course out of the 3. bio was a really easy ap exam and can be self-studied. ap chem on the other hand u need a teacher unless u are really studious and buy lotsa stuff urself. but if ur teacher is good ap chem is definitely worth it and its a good class...but tought. ap phys is just calculus...kinda boring. i would suggest ap chem - i had the most fun in there

Jessica:

There's a school of thought that says physics ought to be taken first because it's the basis of modern chemistry and modern biology; as a result, many schools have adopted a Physics First curriculum. My own S took AP Physics (together with AP Calculus) then AP Chemistry and then AP-Biology. He found that physics did help with chemistry and that the first semester of biology (cellular and molecular biology) contained a lot of chemistry. So your plan of study won't look strange to colleges at all.

I'm in AP bio, and the material seems like the most boring stuff ever. If you're more math oriented, take Physics. Physics and chemistry seemed much more useful and less earthy-crunchy. I guess it's just my personal preference, but I'd take AP physics and chem.

I'm a junior and currently taking ap bio and chem. I would agree that they go well together. Physics and chem go well together too but make sure you have a good enough math background before taking physics. There isn't as much of a connection between bio and physics as there is between bio and chem at the introductory level.

I didn't listen to the people who said that ap bio was boring so I signed up for it anyway, but now I'm completely regretting it. ap bio is extremely boring and tedious

well right now im a sophmore and in AP calc ab since we have to take ab before bc..and so next year ill be taking calc bc

Jessica, it's great that you're taking Calculus early. I took it last year as a freshman.

It's not really necessary to take AB before BC. BC includes all AB material. It simply adds interdeterminate forms of limits, improper integrals, arc length and surface area, and sequences and series.

If you plan on taking BC, just do it.

when i went to go get my schedule changed at the beginning of the year i argued that you shouldn't have to take ab before bc but they said i had to no matter what..and i thought i should be able to take bc because i take a math class outside of school which has already taught me most of the stuff..what should i do?

I think AP Bio is a little boring, but my teacher is really cool. Plus, I like the life sciences more than physics and chem, it really depends on you preference.

Jessica, since you seem to be a math person I'd go for chem & physics - bio is a LOT of memorization and very little math, which is great for me cause i can't do it, but it seems to me like chem & physics are less memorization and more math, which would make your life easier. Good luck with taking two crazy hard classes in 1 year...

It depends on what you like. Physics and Chem are both mostly math. Bio has practically no math. It does include a little bit of chem but there were practically no questions on the AP exam that included any chem, and the chem that is included is simple stuff that you can learn easily without AP Chem. You might want to consider how the teachers are at your school. Ask kids who have taken it if it is hard/easy, interesting/boring, good/bad teachers.

thanks everyone!

I know that AP chem and bio are related in many ways, since i took one of them last year and the other this year

Im currently taking AP bio and AP chem, if you like working A LOT take AP bio.

chem and physics are what i'm doing this year, but they don't really complement each other very well. We're doing mechanics right now, but i suppose when we get to electromagnetism some of the stuff about atomic structure will come in handy from chem

I took AP Bio and both AP Physics C classes. They did not complement at all. So different. For bio i walk in and memorize memorize memorize the whole day, and the only math we see is if graphs go up or down, lol. Then I go to physics and they tell you to integrate and differentiate everything you see in the room.
