On Cornell's website under the AP credit table it says that:

b. Students who obtain AP credit for CHEM 2090 and are thinking of majoring in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering should consider enrolling in CHEM 2150. Those who are offered AP credit for CHEM 2090 and then elect to take CHEM 2150 will also receive academic credit for CHEM 2090. You may want to discuss this option with your faculty advisor.

I received a 5 on AP Chemistry. At first I was paranoid about accepting this credit because I thought it meant that I'd be put in the next level of chemistry. However, after some research, I found that CHEM 2150 is an Honors chemistry course and if I take it, I get 4 credits as if I had taken CHEM 2090. I'm pre-enrolled in CHEM 2090 already on Student Center. I was told that I could schedule CHEM 2150 anyway if I wanted to. I plan on majoring in Chemical Engineering. I've read awful things about the CHEM 2090 professor. and great things about the CHEM 2150 professor. Is it advisable to accept the credit and take the honors course? Or should I just repeat chemistry again? I've had a year of honors chemistry in high school, a year of AP Chemistry, a semester of organic chemistry and a semester of biochemistry.

Thank you so much for reading this!! :)
