AP Chem or AP Bio??!?!?

Okay, so i have a choice of either AP Chem or AP Bio for next year (junior year).. I want to become a pharmacist and i know the obvious choice would be chem. But from the information that i got, we're getting new ap chem teacher (this year's sucked, apparently). And from what i heard about next year's chem teacher, she's not a very good teacher. Therefore, i feel really uncomfortable learning from a new teacher that may not be helpful. On the other hand, AP Bio has a wonderful teacher (i had her freshman year) and i loved her!! She's was great and her classes scored an average of 5 points higher on the midterms and finals. She's someone that I'm familiar with and do well with (concerning grades).

Therefore, i'm really in a dilemma about which one to take. I know its sad that im basing it on teachers, but i asked my friend and she said it is a personal choice, so basing it on teachers is okay. Which one should i take (with my situation)? Please respond ASAP please!

Okay, so take whichever you like more. I LOVE bio, so it would be obvious for me. Don’t worry about the teacher. It’s a high school chemistry class. It’s not that bad.

I’d go with AP Bio because AP Chem you need a good teacher for, or a lot of motivation. It’s one of the hardest APs at my school. However, one may argue that AP Bio doesn’t require a class beyond regular Bio if you’re motivated (then again, it’s been a while for you so self-study may not be the best option). Then again, you’re probably more likely to do well grade-wise and everything for Bio because it’s a really good teacher. You’d feel better prepared before the AP test and wouldn’t panic and would have more time to study for other APs.

Overall, I believe that AP Bio would be a better choice (then again I might be biased because my Honors teacher was the AP teacher and was amazing so I took the AP test this year with some extra self-study and loved it).

This wasn’t so ASAPish, but I sincerely hope you find something useful in my rambling. Good luck next year!

Listen to yourself. It sounds like you have every reason to take one and not take the other. Go with it.

could you take AP bio junior year and AP chem senior year?

So is the obvious choice ap bio?? I already told my counselor and he changed my schedule but he said a lot of people switched from ap chem to ap bio so i might not get a seat in the class.
The ap bio teacher is the same teacher for honors so this would be my second year (hopefully) having her

And @emory12, i plan on taking ap physics (b or c… not sure) senior year and if i have the schedule for it, i guess i’ll double on sciences senior (chem and physics…)

do both :P
