AP Chemistry Final Project

Hi Everyone,
Now that the AP test is over, our chem teacher is giving us a project as our final. We're supposed to make up our own lab experiment or something, and also measure something. For example, measuring heat capacities of different things, redox, analyses of percent composition. Things like that. So does anyone have any ideas for a neat project (which measures some chemistry/scientific concept?)? I was thinking like something involving fire, or flame testing, or a redox, combustion(but I don't know how to measure anything in these reactions), would be interesting, so let me know of any ideas or suggestions. Thanks guys!!

Try Google!

Seriously, good luck finding someone willing to talk about any more chemistry after finally being done with the exam

Here's our lab final:
mass 12g hexaaquanickel(II) Chloride, add 15 mL of DI water in a 250mL beaker, add 30mL of 14.8M NH3, and put in an ice bath descrbe why the color change occurs, Then rinse through a Buchner funnel using an aspirator
then prepare 500mL of .1M NaOH with CO2 free water (made by heating DI water to 80 degrees Celcius), coat and fill a 50mL buret with it, then standardize with KHP (potassium Biphtalate .5 to .8g) repeat twice, then make 250mL of .3M HCl and standardize three times doing titrations with the NaOH,
Next take .2g of the hexaamminenickel(II) cholride you made put in a 250mL flask with 24 to 25mL of the HCl and tirate three times. From this you derive the emperical formula
Now take filtrate from the first place, and make several solutions from a stock solution of hexaaquanickel(II) cholride. And take the value at 395nm for both (your blank for the spec-20 is the H2SO4) and then take all values ranging from 340-600nm in 10nm intervals. then you get to apply crystal field theory and absorbtion (because of the d orbital transitions).

It is evil... but I hope it helps you think of something...
