Not sure where to put this, but all you AP Chem people who also took the joke state test (the Regents) can discuss it. I'm gunning for a 100.

What???

I thought it was really easy and I hope I get a 100

@lemone Regents are NY state mandated exams. You need a certain amount to graduate. I took chemistry last year, after honors chem. But my friend, who took it today, said it was pretty easy as well!

Yeah it was pretty simple, the short answers were worded weirdly though. What was the answer to what temperature would double the gas particles?

double the particles? you mean double the volume, that mc question? i put 200k->400k

wat about that last one with the physical properties of why you would pick copper over aluminum and then aluminum over copper — is it alright if i used density for both? only physical property i saw in the passage…

i used density for copper over aluminum, but then i used heat conductivity for aluminum (did they specifically ask for PHYSICAL property for the aluminum over copper)?

^Yeah I put the same thing for the Copper & Aluminum ones. So far I think I got 3 MCQ wrong, and like 2 short answers wrong, so I am still hoping for a 90. If anything a 85 is good for me.

didnt they say why you would use aluminum over copper for cooking pans? i thought the passage said aluminum was a worse conductor

Yeah it did. I said Aluminum conducts heat slower, so it would be safer to pick up, etc.

im in honors chem, but w/ a really challenging teacher, who is also not the best of teachers- but i found it much easier than other pre-given chem regents. the MC were VEry easy, there were only a few i was unsure about, and most of the short answers were pretty easy too. i’lll be happy with anything above an 80 (cause chem is kinda my worst subject).

But some bad news for those of you who think you got 100’s: you should check out the scaled conversion table for these past regents. it basiccly pulls you DOWN anywahere between 80 and 100. probally caus eit was easier than usual.

oh yeah! and the whole reason i put up a post: malleablitiy was the physical charchter trait (or at least one of them)

Got a freakin’ 96. 2 MC wrong.

yeah that one with choosing aluminum over copper confused me. i put that its lighter weight i didnt know lol. that question and a MC tripped me up. it was like asking for the 2 types of compound bonds or something?!? the answers were either molecular and ionic, molecular and covalent, metallic and ionic, or metallic and covalent.
anyone remember? thanks

^^Two years ago, the curve was even worse. Be grateful. [I got a 93, which ruined my summer.]

answer was ionic and molecular molecular and covalent bond are the same thing and metallic isn’t a bond really

thanks i put ionic and something else i dont remember
