I was wondering if I should take AP chemistry or honors anatomy and physiology. I want to get into UCLA as a biology major and med school later and I’m already taking other aps so I don’t want to overload myself too much
Take AP Chem. You will need General Chemistry, Orgo Chemistry, etc for medical school and the MCAT.
I’ll be taking both one in my junior and one in my senior. I’m taking AP biology right now. I was wondering which one to take in my junior year before college apps
AP chemistry is the most important AP for a pre-med. (The pre-med sequence requires 5 chemistry classes v 2 Biology classes. Excellence in chemistry is vital.) Also make sure you have a class in biology and a class in physics.
AP Chem is a no-brainer.
(fwiw: since so much of Bio now revolves around chemical reactions, IMO, AP Chem is better taken before AP Bio.)
I agree, AP Chem is better prep for your next hurdle to med school, which is getting high grades and a good MCAT score.
