I'm taking the exam in 2 days, and i was just wondering........how mcuh do u need on the test to get a 5?

like...65%

It's ridiculously easy...don't worry about it!

Yeah, I agree, the Chem AP is super easy. Don't stress it.

thanks, guys

um.....25% of all people that take the test get a 1, not sure what you guys are calling easy...it's the hardest of all the AP's

i thought the AP today was really easy. It was actually the easiest one i took.

Aside from reinforcing the fact the AP Chem is really easy I'd just like to add I got a 4 and I didn't answer a free response and did one of the calculator free response without one. Long story short, I took a nap.

Nice, yap.

At CU, you only have to get 4 to get some form of credit and advanced placement. With 5, you can do orgo as a first-year.

it's the hardest of all the AP's

Half of the APs are the "hardest of all" in someone's book.

^well, based on the past curves it is one of the hardest AP's, probably physics is the only harder one.

What do you mean by "curves"? The % of people passing / getting 4's / getting 5's? Or what % of the questions you need to get right to pass / get a 4 / get a 5?

i think he means the latter.

Not sure how that's an objective measure of the difficulty of a test. If you can pass a test 30% of the questions answered correctly, perhaps that means that it is easy.

...or perhaps because the college board recognizes that the test is harder (either because the material's tough or the kids are weak) they shift the grading scale accordingly so that well-qualified students are properly and adequately represented? (and i think the material's tough, so my conclusions are obvious). anyhow the curves are a reflection of it, not a measure of it.

Well you also have to account for the student's background. Of course I thought it was easy, our school gives you a honor chem course as a sophmore, then hits you with a AP Chem course as a junior. Naturally I'd think its easier than someone who only had one year of chem.

So bottom line: easiness is relative (then again so is everything else)

considering ap chem has a higher fail rate and lower average score than ap physics, i'd call that "hardest" using very objective measurements
