hey guys do you think that the Chang textbook is better than the Brown+Lemay textbook

I already bought the Chang book but don't know if i should by the other one?????????????

What about the famous Zumdahl?

i heard that has alot of errors and dosen't explain concepts thoroughly

If you read Zumdahl carefully, it will work well for you. I used it this year for AP Chem and did not find that it had many errors at all.

what about chang and brown-leymay??????????????????? which is better

our school uses Whitten Davis Peck General Chemistry with Qualitative Analysis

we used zumdahl and it worked okay i think fingers crossed

Zumdahl is what we used. Edition 5.

However edition 6 looks so much prettier... :(

dude Zumdahl is the standard AP Chemistry textbook. It's really good, and I didn't find many errors in it. In fact, i used this old beat up 1980s version from the local library and it still worked out well for me.

Zumdahl's text is excellent, except it assumes the student has already had a basic chemistry course. If you haven't, supplement it with a basic chemistry book.

If you're taking an AP Chemistry class, I suggest you pick up an AP study guide (princeton, barron's, etc.). I had the Zumdahl myself, and as I do agree that it is a good book, it's intended for basic college chemistry, not necessarily the AP exam, since it goes so much more indepth. Ironically, the AP exam is supposed to reflect college chemistry, but it's very general.. so you do the math. :)

lol at my school, my crackhead chem teacher picked out this book by ebbing, it is nowhere near as good as the Zumdahl, but she wouldn't lend me her Zumdahl, saying she needed it for reference.

we "used" chang. well, not really- it sort of collected dust in my closet throughout the year.

the questions in brown and lemay were far too easy...dont knowabout the other one.

ebbing and gammon is pretty good, but you can't go wrong with zumdahl

we use zumdahl^2
edition 6 in case you didn't catch on

we use zudahl and it sucks i think cause it has basic examples. and the damn marathon problems kill my grade.

if you want to ace the exam, get Princeton Review and get alot of past AP tests to practice on. Then you're set.

ZUMDAHL ALL THE WAY
yea you can get getter in terms of level of explanation
and problem difficulty

Our school uses Brown/Lemay...
