Hi I am about to become a senior and planning to take AP Chemistry. I took cp chemistry during my sophomore year so I am not really sure how prepared I am for the class. Any thoughts or opinions?

Princeton Review “Cracking the AP Chemistry Exam” is what my chem teacher recommended those of us going in to AP chem next year.
He told us to just go through and review it. He told the seniors that they should read through it more thoroughly, though. The class only will have eleven students, though, so I imagine we will do a quick review at the start of the year.

The class is fairly simply set up. you don’t really learn too much brand new stuff, most of it is just an expansion on the things you learned in chem 1, at least in my experience. My teacher also reccomended leafing through the princeton review book before the year, and i really wish i had.

So i guess what im saying is just leaf through your old chem notes or PR book, try and jog your memory so you can hit the ground running, because its alot harder to understand chapter two if you are still lost on chapter one, the class just builds on itself that way.

I’d say you’re probably somewhat prepared. Basically, you’ll have to groundwork set, but AP chem goes into more detail and several more topics. Just understand what’s going on in the topics–it gets you a lot further than memorizing.
