Ap classes and CBSE classes equivalents

I am student beginning my 11th grade in CBSE syllabus. I want to study in an American school (Fingers crossed an Ivy league) and one of the criteria given is AP classes. I am taking Bio-Maths as my stream and would like to know if that would be sufficient.

AP classes are not necessary for intl. applicants (or even Americans for that matter).

AP scores help in obtaining credit after you enroll in college. However, if your school has rigorous grade deflation, and you wish to demonstrate your learning capability, there is no harm in taking if they are available in your city/ nearby.

So, if I can get extra credit through another method, will that suffice? And is their any standard range of credit we need to have?

You can enter college with 0 credit. It is not a problem.
Often, colleges have placement exams as well, which will get you placed in the class of right difficulty.

Hey, I’d like to ask you guys one thing, should I be taking AP Microeconomics, since I have no other SAT Subject test other than Math level 2 to take. Also, I’ll be applying to Cornell for Majors in Economics. And my 9th and 11th grades are just too low(like 70% only). What should I do? Can I leave it?

@POKO55 That is what is known as hijacking a thread and it is considered very rude to the original poster. Start a new discussion to ask your question.

Sorry @skieurope. I am new to this website. So I don’t really know how it works and how I should be working on it. Humble apologies. And thanks for telling me this.

@POKO55 it’s fine. Just listen to the administrators and you will be fine
