im studyin under the CBSE(INDIAN) syllabus. now wht i want to know is wud it b better 4 me to take a few A.P's as i heard that they give extra credit or are these a waste of time and i shudnt bother with them..

<p>well, Im not sure about these APs. I know that you can take them in countries like new zealand(I lived there for a year).</p>
<p>but in other ones like germany(where Im actually from) you dont have the possibility of taking APs as there is a pre-set system of courses you can take.</p>
<p>I dont think that it matters too much if you take APs when you're international student, at least from europe.</p>
<p>btw: what does AP actually mean? I got the meaning now but what is it the short form for?</p>

<p>Taking AP's is a good way of showing 'initiative' & level of self study. If you know the AP material, take the test. It not only grants you credit for introductory courses but also gives you a slight edge during the admissions cycle.</p>

<p>Hmm that would depend on your understanding of the subjects.</p>
<p>If you've understood Physics and Math concepts then all you need is practice. Buy the Princeton review books and do the tests. BC Calc has one extra topic - Volumes (ie, its not in your standard CBSE curriculum), but its not a biggie. You might also need practice using a graphiing calculator.</p>
<p>But if by any chance your Physics and Math knowledge is all via 'rote' then I dont think you should give the AP's</p>
<p>AP Chem is easy as pie, so don't worry about that.</p>
