<p>Also know that at least half of the people that come in premed decide not to go to medical school. I wouldn’t base everything off of Ned school acceptance. The 50% that decide not to pursue don’t know they won’t pursue it. Just because your son wants to go to medical school now, means little in three years.</p>

<p>I agree that lot of them dont finish what they start with and go some other way, I am sure pre-med is tough to pursue and if they know they not going to make it or already burned out then going 4-6 more year of rigorous Med School. I myself a EE class of 1988 and know that only 25% made it from freshman to Senior year, some drop out, some change the Major. I remember a friend of mine who after EE graduation went Med School in UAB… and he was burned out but still has the legs to go Med School…</p>
<p>My S is actually Crazy about to be Mathematician and really like to join Uof Chicago since they have a very good program, but somehow we convince him to try pre-Med, now that could change in few years if he likes some other program…</p>
