Does the number of AP exams taken senior year have any bearing on the college application process? For example, I plan to self-study 4-5 AP classes my senior year. Will this have any benefit at all, besides just getting the classes for college credit?

I believe that the colleges look at the rigor of your senior year schedule(I.e how much AP classes you are taking in your case), so I believe that it will have a benefit by giving you a better chance at colleges.

Self-studying them won’t. Having them as classes will. Unless you can get the school to put “Independent Study: AP _______” on your transcript. Colleges won’t care for the AP grades because you will have been rejected/accepted by then, but they will care for course grades and the courses you take.

I still want to self-study classes (since my school has a very limited number of AP classes). Is there anyway that I would be able to show colleges that I am self-studying classes?
