How does Cal Poly view Ap classes. I understand that they only give 8 semesters of points (4 classes), but does taking more than 4 ap classes have any effect? For example, a person who took 4 ap classes vs a person who took 7. Also, When counting the number of Ap classes a person has taken, do they count the ap classes from senior year too ? Thanks everyone!

Taking more than 4 AP classes is considered in admissions even though it is not counted in your GPA because they have you enter all of your classes, not just your GPA. Also, if I remember correctly, they have a place to put your senior year schedule in your application, so yes they do look at your senior year AP classes/difficulty level.

Keep in mind they do not count your senior year grades until after you’ve been accepted (I’m pretty sure they don’t ask for a mid year report). I know most people don’t have grades out until after the application is due, but some schools have them out before and they don’t consider those grades during the admissions process.

Hope that’s helpful :)

haha it is :]. thank you. btw would you say if i apply for Early decision is it easier or harder to get it. ?

Early decision is probably a little easier to get in because you HAVE to go there once they accept you. Plus, the pool is smaller so you might stand out more if you’re well qualified. I’m not exactly sure how much easier it is, I applied regular to a different program heh.
