Will high school senior year class changes effect my admissions to Cal Poly SLO?

Hey all,
First off, this is my first post and i hope i'm posting in the right place. If not I apologize. Not very used to this forum yet!
I made three changes to my schedule which were:
1) I had a level change and went from AP stats to stats (I have AP stats for 2nd semester on my app)
2) I switched a drafting class (that could either be a year long, or only a semester) to become a tutor for AVID students. (I wrote 2 semesters for drafting on my app)
and 3) I wrote that i'd take Weight training PE but instead now go to a private gym.

I wrote a letter to Cal Poly SLO admissions regarding the change but received no reply confirming the change (wrote the letter after they admitted me). My question is did i screw myself over and am I going to have my admission to Cal Poly rescinded? I need to know because I'm deciding between Cal Poly SLO and UCI and I'm afraid if i decide to go to Cal Poly SLO and commit, I might get rejected after the May 1st deadline and I'll have no college to go to. I'm sure UCI accepts class changes, but i found nothing of the sort on the Cal Poly SLO website.

Thanks All

bump, really would like some help

I don't know about Cal Poly, but one of my friends got in to UPenn on a volleyball scholarship and she wanted to drop ac. spanish 4th year second semester. It's a joke class and the teacher brings donuts everyday, plus it was her only academic class and she didn't want to be there if she wasn't learning. She called the admissions office before changing her schedule and she was told she's have her admissions recinded if she did that. I don't know if they're just super crazy over at UPenn or what, but I think you should've called the admissions office before making any schedule changes.

You should just call them on the phone and see if you can get a direct answer. After they say "that's fine" (which I expect they'll say), write a letter back to the person you talked to in admissions --make sure to find out their name-- basically confirming what you was said in the phone call. That way they'll be some piece of paper sitting in your file documenting the conversation.

That's what I would do anyway.

My son has had to make some minor changes to this last couple months of classes too. He sent an email to his college. That was just recently though. If he doesn't hear back in a week, I'll make the same suggestion to him to phone and follow up with a letter.

If they say no at Cal Poly, then you can discuss with them what your acceptable options are. (Follow that up with a letter too.)

drafting and gym- are they part of the a-g thing or whatever?

and what is left in your schedule. that is what makes the difference

and calrule- ONE academic class as a senior? did I read that wrong?

That's right, but the rest were IB courses....it's not like she had 5 periods filled with gym and art.

First off, ALL colleges care about academic class changes that weaken senior year schedule -- UCI included. But, your changes don't appear to be too extreme, and will be looked at in context. Question, however, was the 'drafting' class taken to fulfill your VAPA requirement? If so, it must be a year-long course, or you will get rescinded by UCI an SLO.

btw: unless weight training was required for graduation (Calif requires two years of PE), no college will care about it.

Concur with an earlier poster: call SLO tomorrow.

I have already fulfilled all of my VPA requirements by taking AP Art History in my Junior year and my remaining senior year classes are:
AP English Literature
AP MacroEconomics
AP Biologyy
Avid Tutoring
Statistics

I dropped AP Statistics because I was afraid was gonna get a C/D in that class for second semester as I barely scraped by with a B. I know it was a rash and not-so-smart move, but until now I hadn't really thought of the consequences.
I have fulfilled all requirements for PE, arts, a-g etc
Thanks all for your tips i will call both UCI and SLO tomorrow
