AP Comparative Government v. AP World History

Are these 2 courses similar? I know comparative studies the history and the government of world countries and obviously world history does too...i mean are they similar or what?

AP World History covers a really wide ranging time period including lots of early civilization stuff and gives you an overview of many different countries' histories.

AP Comp Gov't focuses on the governments of five or six (I don't remember exactly how many at the moment) countries with different systems of governments and focuses on comparing/contrasting things within each country.

I think they are both very different courses.

They're both history courses, for sure. World History is more centered around cultural interaction and the development of civilizations, important historical events such as wars/economic events.

Comparative Government is more focused on the way political systems work and examines 6 different governments of the world (Britain, China, Iran, Russia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria), their history and current situation and organization/functions

I'm taking Comparative Government now, done with Britain and China now, going on to Russia.
