AP Computer Science 's effect on colleges

Hello there,

I have struggled severely with AP Computer Science as my first AP, both having a difficult teacher to cope with and having trouble to grasp the concepts. I have done well in all my other AICE/Honors classes so far except APCS and I am taking into consideration a computer science degree. Will this one class affect my chances of getting into a good CS college? What can I do for the future? Will struggles in this class potentially occur in other AP classes I take in the future?

I heard from other forum members that if you did poorly on AP Biology, then that might affect your chances at applying to a Biology major. I don’t know if this applies to APCS.
However, many of the best CS schools such as Stanford and MIT are general admissions, meaning they don’t have to know which major you want to pursue. So, even if you did really poorly on APCS, it doesn’t necessarily have to bite as hard.
