Ok, so I am currently deciding on which high school courses I should take in high school. I have already taken Accelered Chemistry and a college course in Biology (161). Now, I am wondering how important are AP Physics C and AP Enviornmenal Science for someone that wants to do well in Pre-Med/ Guaranteed Program Medicine. Are either of these APs more important than AP Psych?
(I am definitely going to take AP Chem and AP Bio sometime)

Thanks guys...

Hi,

I’m going to major in Biochemistry once I go to college (hopefully UPenn!) and I know that the majority of Science schools want an applicant to take as many science courses that would help them for their applied major, so I would say both AP Environmental Science and AP Physics C are more important to your major that AP Psychology. They’re only important in the sense, however, that your major is dependent on these AP’s either now (so you can possibly claim credit once you get accepted into a college), or when you have to take them regardless. AP Biology and AP Chemistry are first priority for a Pre-Med course system - some schools also like if you have taken AP Calculus AB/BC. If you told me what school you were looking to apply at, I could be more helpful, but hopefully this is a good start!

Thanks Bryce.

I was thinking along the lines of BS/MD programs (PLME, HPME, etc.) and Ivy’s, and top 15 schools. Not only do I want to go to a good undergrad school, but I more importantly want to get into a good med school (hence my interest in guaranteed programs).
