I'm a HS sophmore with a 3.9 GPA, good extracurriculars, etc. However, my problem is that my school offers absolutely no AP courses. ;_; Will this hurt my chances of acceptance, since most ND applicants have some?

Also, I'm graduating 1 year earlier. Would that help me to even out the lack of APs? o.O

Thank you. :)

If your school doesn’t offer any AP classes, then obviously ND can’t hold it against you. If your school offers 30 and you choose to not take any, though, they will hold that against you. If you really want to have some AP credits on your resume, you could self study some. Many schools will allow you to take the test, even if you don’t have the class. It may even show great initiative for taking it upon yourself to get AP credits.

Remember that the college takes into account the school you come from. If your school has no AP classes, they’ll realize why you don’t have any. But make sure you are challenging yourself otherwise!

I just got accepted this year and my school only offers one AP class and I didn’t even take that class. So it is definitely possible to be accepted without AP’s. I would stress that you really need to study for the SAT/ ACT if you are graduating early.

I did post all of my stats on the EA Results page because grades are definitely not the only thing ND will look at.
