AP credit and core/major requirements?

By the end of this year I should have a five on AP English Lit, AP Bio, AP US

I've seen the website, but what does "History 042 (1 c.u.) " mean?

I assume 1 c.u. is one credit unit, but will it benefit me in freeing up some of my classes etc for my major/grad requirements??

THANKS!!

In general you can only use AP credits to fulfill elective requirements or for advanced placement into upper level courses, not core/major requirements. For example, assuming you’re in the college, having a AP credit in a history class does not get you out of having to take a class in the History sector.

ughhh so why do we even bother taking the ap’s?

for the award, you help your high school’s rankings, so you can brag, because you cannot find a better way to spend your time, because you don’t want to be one of the few people not doing it, etc etc

Because in order to get into Penn you have to be taking the AP class, and a lot of schools make you take the test if you are in the class.
