AP credit for cornell???

wat exactly does cornell mean by "you may use AP credits only toward the graduation requirement" ? i know that 120 credits are required for graduation, so if i already have 30 from AP credits can i graduate a year early? i am soon to be a freshman at cornell (accepted ED) and wanted to see if AP credits would helo lighten my courseload throughout the year a bit. thanks in advance to all those who comment:)

yeah you can graduate early. i came into cornell with 30 credits as well and my adviser asked me if i wanted to be registered as a sophomore instead of a freshman.

What college are you in? In Arts you need 100 credits in Arts classes and none of those 100 can be AP credits. So right off the bat you could only use 20 and then you’d be extremely limited on how many classes you can take outside Arts (unless you want to be taking 5 classes each semester). But you can also use them to place into higher level classes also which can be good if that’s what you want to do.

Certain AP credits can be used for classes that happen to be major/college requirements. You’ll have to look up credit substitutions on the university’s website.
