I hear people say that Intro courses are weeders especially intro to organic chemistry, etc... I was wondering if you use your 5's in Bio, Chem, and Physics C and decide not to take those courses, would it be preferable to jump to the next step? I mean, I do want to still get by and get hopefulyl a 3.6 or above and I hope that skipping courses can help me get by those intro weeding courses to perhaps something more easier in relevance to grades/curves/gpa though it may be a higher course. Thus, I was just curious as to would I be in a better position to not use those credits, use only one or two subject credits, or use all of them?

You should skip if you retain most of the info from ur AP classes - if ur not that good at the subject or dont feel well-prepared, then you shouldnt skip cuz some of the stuff is cumulative and u gotta use stuff from the intro courses. Repeating a course is prob still easier than going onto the next level, even if the curve in the higher course is more lenient, simply cuz u will know the majority, tho not all, of the stuff being taught.

Its simply called Organic Chemistry. Its not considered an intro class and you cannot skip it. You can skip General Chem with a 4 or 5 but orgo is the next level.

really, u think its better to general chem first, because I hear ORGO CHEM is the hardest

I'm going to major in biology, and Organic Chem's a must. I have the credit for general chem, so I think it's best to get Org. Chem out of the way. I'm not sure about AP, but IB covers a lot of Organic- it can't be too bad. I'm using all of my IB/AP science credits.

also the curve for frshmn orgo is better then that for the other sections so Ive heard
