Hey guys,
I was wondering what the deal is with receiving AP credit for self-studying courses. Do ALL colleges give credit if I self-study a course? I've heard from my friends/peers that a fair amount of colleges don't give credit for AP exams unless you actually take the class? Any comments/ experiences with credit issues. I'm asking because I'm planning to self like 4 AP's this year but am not sure if it is worth it if credit is not received. BTW im self-studying AP's that typically receive credit like Micro/Macro, AP Physics C. So essentially my question is whether there a point to take out the time to self these courses or to not bother if credit is no received.

any thoughts?

It is 100% based on the SCORE you receive on the AP EXAM. If you want college credit you need to get atleast a 3 on the exam (check college ap credit policy on college website). You could get an F in your ap class and still get college credit if you pass the AP exam. Also you could get an A in your ap class and won’t get any credit if you only get a 1 on your ap exam.

The high school courses (including AP courses) and grades matter for admission.

The scores on the AP tests matter for credit units, subject credit, and placement.
