Hey everyone, I just have a question regarding AP Credit and how it’s utilized at Cal Poly

I was mapping out my courses just to see what I could eliminate and found that (if I were to pass all my AP courses this year) I would satisfy pretty much all my “Society and Individual” GE credits, effectively wiping out about 4 courses (and 16 units) from my schedule and then some.

What I’m wonder is that if you are able to take APs that satisfy those specific courses, do they become elective units that you still need to satisfy or are they wiped from your schedule completely and considered fulfilled?

For example, would my World History AP credit that satisfies 4 units of the “Comp Social Institutions” GE Requirement mean that I now have all those units done or do they become elective units for me to take whatever I want like, say, Italian?

Hopefully what I’m trying to ask is understandable and thank you for your time.
